Historical Village Visitors Center

The Kalona Historical Village Visitors Center is the home of the nationally known Quilt and Textile Museum. We have two galleries one "English" and one "Amish" reminding visitors that the Amish call anyone "English" that is not Amish).

The Visitors Center also houses 100 pieces of Iowa City and Keota glass made in the area in the 1800's, the Reif Gem and Mineral Museum, the largest collection of spool cabinets, and many family showcases featuring collectibles from families in the area.

Jim Sellinger - Silversmith

With over 30 years of jewelry making, Jim has spent the past 8 years perfecting his talent of making sterling silver Christmas ornaments. Join him as he takes us through his process from start to finish. Jim, along with Logan and Helen Reif, created the "Holy City" which is now on display in the Reif Gem and Mineral Room.

Jeff Klatt - Runaway Saws

Jeff will carve four sculptures on Friday, and four sculptures on Saturday. Jeff's artwork will be available for purchase. You can also special order a sculpture for Jeff to carve at the festival.
